The development of direct space vector modulation method for matrix converter
Matrix converter has emerged as a best substitution of the conventional converters due to the
capability of power regeneration, the sinusoidal input and output waveforms, and no need for energy
storage. This paper describes direct space vector modulation method using in matrix converter, and
then, the modified direct space vector modulation method without using zero-space vector is proposed
to reduce the common-mode voltage which currently exists in the entire modern converters. The
simulation and experimental results on three-phase inductive load are carried out to validate the
theoretical analysis.
