Sea port services at Hoang Dieu Stevedoring Enterprise: current situation and solutions

Nowadays, service is considered as an important industry that contributes a lot of profit to each country. Many developed countries mainly emphasized on developing service industry because they deeply understood that this no – chimney - industry has created great benefits and has been environmentally friendly industry. Services currently account for over 60 percent of global production and employment; they represent no more than 20 percent of total trade. Many services, which have long been considered genuine domestic activities, have increasingly become international mobile. This trend is likely to continue, owing to the introduction of new transmission technologies, the opening up in many countries of long-entrenched monopolies, and regulatory reforms in hitherto tightly regulated sectors such as transport.
Vietnam, in the context of becoming a member of World Trade Organization (WTO) and integrating in international economy, has been changed to catch up with the trend of age. In Vietnam economy, service has been accounted for larger density. Simultaneously, there are more and more companies taking part in this industry and providing many different kinds of services. In which, sea port service is worth to mention because from the past, this service has helped the development of business activities with foreign countries and Vietnam has had more opportunities to integrate with international friends. It is very clear to see that ports and services provided in ports play a key role in the operation of inter - modal door – to – door transport chains and their efficient functioning is essential for shippers. Ports are used primarily for the handling, storage and distribution of goods – as part of logistics chains. The attractiveness of a port to a shipper is judged by the quality of services provided in ports. The ability of ports to attract a wide range of services is of critical importance to Vietnam economy.
