We have included papers on the theoretical basis for activity and selectivity
of hydrotreating catalysts, experimental measurement of catalyst activity and
selectivity of hydrotreating reactions in model and real feeds, new catalytic
materials, structural models of hydrotreating catalysts and their characterization, reaction mechanism and pathways, and biological processing of hydrocarbon feeds. The material is presented in the hope that it will stimulate interdisciplinary research efforts to further understand and tailor hydrotreating catalysts for the growing demandsf or more efficient hydrotreating processes and catalysts, leading to cleaner transportation fuels.
