Not being able to concentrate on learning, or distraction in the classroom, appears increasingly common in all ages and all levels of education. It not only leads to the teachers’ having more headaches but has become a serious problem affecting the academic performance of students as well. However, until now this issue has not been seen frank and given proper care. Therefore, this research is taken to demonstrate the extent of neglect of academic periods among Foundation Studies Department (FSD) students, in the hope of providing the readers with the nature and causes of distraction in class, simultaneously helping students to be aware of the problems facing them, from which there will be right and most effective for them. Besides, methodical techniques to deal with distraction in class are also mentioned for students to consult. The study makes full use of both secondary and primary research (questionnaires and interviews). Consequently, we are in the belief that this report can be used as a practical reference for students to get better academic results as well as a worthy template for further research in the future.
