Psychologists claim that we all keep basic images in our heads,
images we use to identify things in the world. For example,
everyone stores an image of a dog in his head. Say “dog” and that
image comes up, which you use to identify all things dog in the
world. The same is true with a computer.
When you think “computer,” an image comes into your head, a
prototype computer by which you can judge other objects in the
world, identifying them properly as a computer or a looks-like-acomputer
rather than a looks-like-a-dog.
The sections that follow describe the various pieces of a computer,
some of which you may be familiar with and some of which you
probably don’t know. This is your basic training for tagging the
most elementary parts of a computer.
