An intelligent e-marketplace for software components trading

This thesis introduces a new e-marketplace for software components trading. This e-marketplace is focused on providing decision support on whether buying/renting or when to sell software component for software developers. For buyers, a business decision model on whether to buy or rent a software component in current markets is studied and integrated into the e-marketplace as an automated decision-making function. For sellers, a decision problem on when to sell is examined and built into this e-marketplace. Current discounting interest rate, length of planned horizon, number of uses and maintenance cost of a software component are four key parameters of decisions making processes on whether to buy or rent the software component from the e-marketplaces.
